Let's turn it BLUE.

The Wagner Blueprinting Company has been dedicated to the special craft of blue printing since 1878 and has been one of our most loyal customers for many decades. That's why we're all the more delighted with the result of our joint creation, the newcloth!

The so-called reserve printing technique creates the white pattern cloth on the cloth against a blue background. First, our linen is pre-washed and laid out on a large work table. A stamp pad is used to apply the Papp clay, water, and Gum arabic), which prevents the blue dye from penetrating where a pattern is to be placed.

The processed fabric is then stretched onto the star frame (a circular iron frame) and dipped several times into the vat (lime, water, plant-based indigo important secret ingredients). As soon as the vat oxidizes in the air, the blue becomes more and more intense, causing the white, decorative patterns to appear on the fabric.

We are delighted that this fascinating craft is being kept alive thanks to the dedication of Maria and Karl Wagner !

These cloths sewn for you with love by Andrea and Ulrike. The linen was, of course, woven in our weaving mill in Helfenberg. More information about our employees and the weaving mill.
